The costs and the environmental impact associated with radioactive waste disposal are major concerns today. To minimize both, the ability
to accurately measure and characterize the nature of the waste is a must. By working closely with regulatory agencies and nuclear facilities throughout the world, CANBERRA has developed an advanced
family of gamma ray, neutron, and combined gamma/neutron waste assay systems that can effectively measure radioactive materials
in a wide variety of matrices and container geometries. These
systems have been designed to meet U.S. regulations 10CFR61 and 40CFR191 as well as European and Asian waste disposal
requirements.
