About of CANBERRA France

CANBERRA France sells and provides technical support of all CANBERRA products and systems for the French market. Products from the CANBERRA France factories are sold and supported worldwide through the CANBERRA sales offices network.

CANBERRA France is the former Eurisys Mesures, which was originally created in 1993 with the merger of 3 long-established nuclear instrumentation companies:

  • Intertechnique, specializing in multichannel analysers, neutron measurements, and criticality accident detection systems.
  • Enertec/Schlumberger, which specialized in the manufacture of Ge and Si detectors and associated electronics
  • Numelec, specializing in alpha and beta low background counting systems and Frisch grid chambers.

During the 1990's Eurisys Mesures acquired three additional companies to add to its capabilities:

  • Dextray, which manufactured gas detectors
  • Nardeux, which manufactured health physics instrumentation
  • Nomatek, which manufactured dosimetry products.

Today, CANBERRA France has 3 manufacturing sites:

  • Lingolsheim (near Strasbourg), which specializes in the development and manufacturing of scientific detectors for research centers, space industry and international scientific experiments.
  • Loches (near Tours), which manufactures a comprehensive range of health physics products such as portal monitors, access control systems, hand-held instruments and dosimetry, mainly for the nuclear industry and civil security markets. The factory in Loches also makes He-3 detectors for neutron measurement systems and Frisch grid chambers and other alpha/beta counting systems for nuclear and environmental laboratories.
  • Montigny (near Paris) specializes in the design and delivery of turn-key systems for criticality detection, D&D, fuel monitoring and waste management markets.
