in conjunction with Tennelec Alpha/Beta counters.
This training course is intended for the Tennelec User who is new to the ECLIPSE
software environment. Differences between the system hardware setup and installation
will be discussed. This course will cover software installation and operation
of the additional software product that are equipped as options or part of
the Series 5 platform configuration. Common operator error and pitfalls will
be discussed along with troubleshooting techniques. The course will equip the
Tennelec user with a working knowledge of ECLIPSE LB and the additional software
components so that first line diagnostics and troubleshooting can be accomplished.
This training course will not involve theoretical principles of detecting radiation
particles, it is a pure technical course on how to use the Tennelec ECLIPSE
5XLB.
Course Content
Hardware and Software Installation:
- Installation of the software and hardware, with special
attention to the lead castle and gas supply.
Calibrations:
- The integrity of the system calibration depends on
several things including: the quality of calibration
standards, the order of calibration and the diligence
in which the plateaus and ROI's are updated with gas
and/or plateau voltage changes.
Sample Counting:
- This part gives an overview of all types of samples:
smear samples, filter samples, soil and non-soil solid
samples, and water samples.
Eclipse Quality Control:
- Explanation of the two different types of control
charts.
Eclipse Database Utilities:
- Eclipse LB Software uses a Microsoft Access database
for managing all of the data associated with system
operation and data management.
Seagate Crystal Reports:
- The purpose of this section is to familiarize with
basic Crystal report design. Although Crystal Reports
is a powerful and complex software package, it is possible
to design simple reports in a short time. Crystal Reports
syntax, formula editing, and advanced features will
be discussed.
