CANBERRA held it’s 42nd Users’ Group Meeting at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, in Indian Wells, CA, June 25 – 29, 2007. The meeting was attended by over 130 scientists, managers, technicians, and other users of CANBERRA nuclear measurement equipment. CANBERRA Users’ Group Meetings are held annually to facilitate a technical and application information exchange between CANBERRA and the end user community.
The program began with two days of technical training courses presented by the CANBERRA Training and Technical Services department. The courses covered a wide variety of applications in addition to specific operation of CANBERRA equipment and systems.
On Tuesday evening we hosted a very well attended, welcome reception in the desert, for the meeting participants. The full meeting began Wednesday morning with a welcome address and opening remarks from Mr. Frederic Van Heems, President of CANBERRA, followed by our keynote speaker Dr. Dale Klein, Chairman of the NRC. This was then followed by several speakers who covered topics related to our industry.
Wednesday afternoon featured a series of product/application specific breakout sessions conducted by CANBERRA representatives followed by a reception in our demo room. Participants were also able to view CANBERRA hardware and software demonstrations on Wednesday evening, and again on Friday morning in this product demo room
On Thursday morning we enjoyed a series of technical sessions presented by end-users’, followed by a series of product/application specific breakout sessions in the afternoon. Thursday evening’s dinner was held at the Jack Warner Estates in Palm Springs.
This year’s meeting was rated by our customers as CANBERRA’s best ever. It was also our largest attended meeting. Next year we are looking forward to an even larger and better meeting!
