CANBERRA’s Falcon 5000 is a state-of-the-art portable Radionuclide Identifier (RID) based on a High-Purity Germanium (BEGe)
detector. High-Purity Germanium is the gold standard in detection technology. The
Falcon 5000 quickly and accurately determines if there is a radiation source present,
where that source is and which isotopes are emitting the radiation.
Ideal for security, emergency and interdiction applications, the Falcon 5000 delivers laboratory-quality Germanium Gamma Spectroscopy in a field-portable package. The Falcon 5000 combines the best resolution BEGe detector technology with state-ofthe- art electrical cooling which enables the system to cool down in less than three hours while still providing six to eight hours of independent field operation. The Falcon 5000 also features hot-swappable batteries for virtually unlimited field operation.
The Falcon 5000 is highly powerful and customizable. The system comes complete with a full version of CANBERRA’s industry-leading gamma analysis software, Genie 2000, which has been developed based on over 40 years of experience in all types of radiation measurement environments. The full power of Genie 2000 analysis is available in the Falcon 5000, yet a simple “push button” user interface allows easy navigation through the instrument’s basic control functions. Additional information on CANBERRA’s Falcon 5000 can be found at www.canberra.com/falcon .
