CANBERRA INTRODUCES NEW VERSION OF GENIE™ 2000 SOFTWARE
CANBERRA has introduced Genie™ 2000 Version 3.2, the latest version of its basic spectroscopy software, which includes a number of major enhancements. One exciting enhancement is the 3D Geometry Composer which delivers immediate 3D visual feedback for faster geometry development and fewer errors in creating complex geometries. It allows for powerful 3D manipulations – objects can be rotated, zoomed, and translated to view the as-entered geometry. With this feature, for the first time, users will have a 3D view to their existing setups. Another time-saving feature included in the new composer is the Beaker Editor which simplifies creation of laboratory geometries.
Version 3.2 also includes improvements to the Cascade Summing Correction feature
that now includes x-ray coincidences down to 10 keV as well as the annihilation 511
keV ones. Along with this extension, a new and improved detector characterization
protocol has been implemented.
A new feature in Version 3.2 is the ISOCS Uncertainty Estimator (IUE). It is a powerful tool that can be employed to evaluate, optimize, and choose among various counting choices as well as to lower the total measurement uncertainty (TMU). It is a structured and defendable method to quickly create the uncertainty of the efficiency calibration, and to propagate those errors to the final result.
