Description

ACHNP97 & ACHNA98 Industrial Charge Amplifiers for Helium-3 DetectorsThese charge amplifiers have been optimized to process low amplitude pulses delivered by Helium-3 neutron detectors operating in proportional mode.

They offer both small size and low cost while combining five main functions: charge preamplifier, filteramplifier, adjustable discriminator, high voltage filter and logic summator. They include test input, analog and digital outputs, threshold, discriminator adjustment potentiometers with connectors for device control, and logical input and output for daisy chain connection of several amplifiers (summation of pulses from several detectors).

These amplifiers have been designed for operation in the most severe industrial environment encountered in nuclear fuel factories, for Safeguard measurements and Waste Monitoring. They are also well protected against electromagnetic disturbances and are CE certified.
They can be also used for some neutron scattering experiments at high count rates.

The ACHNP97 amplifier is perfectly adapted to non destructive analysis of nuclear materials by passive neutron measurements for Safeguards and Waste Monitoring: very sharp output pulses, 150 ns under 50 Ohms, and 30 ns on request for high counting rates.

The ACHNA98 is dedicated to non destructive analysis of nuclear materials by active neutron measurements (with pulsed neutron generator tube): dead time of the analog measurement system after each generator shot is reduced (a true signal is restored 200 µs after an intense shot of 108 neutrons per second).
