CSP™ Family (Probes and Meters)

Every day sounds like the same story: users have to make sure that their instruments are giving the right response before going into the field and starting surveys. Same questions always apply with old instrument and probes:

• Do I have the right probe with the right instrument?
• Is the probe powered correctly by the meter?
• Is the cable in good shape?
• Did anyone change the mechanical adjustments?

Moreover, since the old meter, probe and cable have to be calibrated as a group, the whole group stays on the shelf until an application requires this specific configuration. This impacts the quantity of instruments needed.

Our CSP™ Family of products bring flexibility to all surveying applications. All measurement components (high voltage, amplifier, discriminator and signal processing) are located in the probe. Each CSP also stores all calibration parameters, all application related settings, and all data logging points (up to 1,000 date stamped points) in memory. Each probe is separately calibrated and set up to match a dedicated application and ALL probes are always compatible with ALL Radiagems without any further setup required. This significantly reduces the number of instruments sitting on the shelf.

If a specific probe is in service/calibration/setup, just pick up another calibrated probe and continue your measurements with the same Radiagem. In the meantime, the original probe (without the meter) can be queued for calibration.

Communication between Radiagem and CSP is serial. No analog signal is used, ensuring that cable shape and length will never impact the final measurement.

CSPS™ - Canberra Smart Probe Software offers an easy way to set up, calibrate and exchange data between your computer and the CSP. Simply connect the CSP to a PC via a USB cable and start talking to the probe, thus ensuring that the same procedure is used for everyone. Calibration is software driven which reduces the completion time and improves the availability of instruments and probes in the field. CSPS is also useful for checking a probe before adding it to inventory.

All CSPs can be upgraded with a simple process. You only need to download new firmware from CANBERRA’s web site and let CSPS update your Radiagem and CSP with a simple click of your mouse.
