Description

The CANBERRA Color Video Server (CVS) was designed for integration in multi-channel surveillance systems. The Color Video Server collects still images from analog video sources, digitizes and compresses the images, then stores them on a built-in flash memory card. The capturing and recording of images are controlled by various trigger sources that can be individually configured to meet the needs of the particular application.

The CVS incorporates a non-removable SD flash card, which is operated as a ring buffer. This means recording does not stop when the card is full, rather, the recording is automatically continued at the beginning of the card; overwriting old images. Approximately 42 images per megabyte can be stored on flash cards ranging in size from 1 to 8 GB. Live and/or recorded images may be viewed from the CVS through Ethernet using the CVS Player program. This program allows the user to search Color Video Servers in the network. Using the CVS Player program, the user can suspend and resume the video stream, as well as view images forwards and backwards.
