NASRAMS-10 Naval Ship Radiation Monitoring System
|
Features

- Provides detection and measurement of “PROMPT DOSE” (neutron and gamma) as well as residual (FALLOUT) radiation
- Nuclear Survivable to USANCA criteria
- EMI and EMP qualified (capable of wire or Fiber Optic cable data transmission)
- Outstanding linearity over a wide dynamic range
- Ultra long detector life and calibration stability
- Operates in and withstands the extremes of the full military environment of MIL-STD-810
- Detector will not saturate in gamma fields to 105 Gy/hr
Description
Providing continuous real time radiological information on board large and small ships and submarines.
Detectors
The detectors used in the Shipboard System employ GM detectors operating in CANBERRA’s patented “Time-to-Count” operating mode – providing outstanding linearity over the entire dynamic range of the instrument – no compensation for high levels is necessary.
| Local Readout Detector (LRD)
Gamma detection with local readout suitable for use below or above deck where it is considered advantageous to provide a local readout of radiation at that location. Unit has a display but no controls. |

| Mast Mount Detector (MMD)
No readout, designed for mast mount or otherwise inaccessible location. |
