Description |
The Server Digital Imaging System (SDIS) was originally developed with the purpose of providing a commercial off-the-shelf system to be used in support of remote monitoring systems by the International Safeguards community. The system is Microsoft Windows® XP Professional based, utilizing the RAS capabilities of XP for remote communications and downloading data. The SDIS is currently used in support of remote monitoring. It is a fully sealable unit intended for placement in any location throughout the world, with the capabilities of adapting to the power source of the host nation. The system, designed to collect various forms of data (instrumentation, video, trigger, and environmental), stores the data and allows a user to access this information using the remote access capabilities of the system. The collection of data is automatic through the use of the CANBERRA Albuquerque Communications Suite of software. This software suite, running as a Windows service, sorts, authenticates, encrypts, and archives the data by device to assist in the organization of collected information. Additionally, the system allows for resetting various components via a keyboard/access number input, so local support can perform “authorized” resets, precluding the necessity for on-site visits by Safeguard inspectors. The system will operate for an extended period of time (72 hours for a three-camera system) using the specially designed UPS in the event of a power surge or power outage. Once the data has been collected on the server, separate software is available to automate the remote download and to allow the user to perform a complete safeguards review of the information. |
