Description

Roaming video is based on CANBERRA’s Delta 2000/E communications converter product line and provides a small form factor platform intended for high-end embedded applications, specifically smart camera applications. The Delta 2000/E’s increased processing power, lower development time, and standardized interface to daughter cards (PC104) allows customers to expand the system easily through the industry standard PC104 architecture, which does not require the long development time of custom daughter cards. The system also utilizes the on-board networking for the high throughput applications needing 10 Base-T communication speeds. For the high noise and harsh environments, one optically isolated RS-485 channel has been included.

Aquila Roaming Video System

Roaming video uses a Linux port to capture JPEG images from a PC104 video card and send these images to a host processor via wireless Ethernet. CANBERRA Albuquerque has a large repository of reusable libraries for the flexible Delta 2000/E-based product that allows the portable video to be easily expanded to include other functions such as authentication, serial connections, and data storage.

Applications

Due to the flexibility of both the Linux-based ROM executive and the Elan SC400 CPU, new portable video applications can be easily developed through an engineering contract with CANBERRA Albuquerque. Alternatively, CANBERRA can make the Linux sources and tools for software development available to the customer.
