S-10 Backscatter Kit
The S-10 is a favorite experiment kit to demonstrate the backscattering effects of beta radiation and determine the relative effects of atomic number, thickness of backing material and energy level of beta radiation. The kit includes seven backscatter materials (aluminum, copper, glass, lead, nickel-plated steel, plastic, and stainless steel). A thin mylar-sealed source (included) containing 0.5 µCi of Tl-204 provides low energy beta radiation.
S-11 Cloud Chamber Source Set
The S-11 contains one alpha (< 0.1 µCi, Po-210) and one beta (< 0.1 µCi,
Sr-90) needle source mounted in stoppers. The activity is deposited on
the ends of the needles. Rubber stoppers fit into the ends of plastic test
tubes for safe, convenient storage.
S-12, S-14, & S-15 Mylar Beta Disks
The S-12 (Carbon-14, 10 µCi, T = 5730 years), S-14 (Lead-210, 0.01 µCi, T = 22 years) and S-15 (Iron-55, 100 µCi, T = 2.7 years) mylar covered disks are ideal for low-energy beta studies. Radioactivity is deposited in the center of 0.0015-inch mylar film, dried, and assembled into a plastic disk that is sealed with epoxy.

Cs-137 & I-129 Clinical Check Sources
The Cs-137-T and I-129-T test tube check sources carry less than 0.1 µCi activity each and are license exempt.Pb-210 Needle Cloud Chamber Source
Contains Pb-210 < 0.01 µCi. See S-11 section for description of needle
sources.
