Product Spec Sheet PDF Format

Features

  • Display, inspect and modify peak search or library driven peak search results
  • Peak region plotting of:
    – Raw channel-by-channel data with Poisson uncertainty plotted
    – Step background function
    – Overall Gaussian fit for singlet peaks
    – Individual Gaussian fit for multiple peaks

Description

The Interactive Peak Search Program is used to display, inspect and modify results obtained from the standard Genie peak search, Genie 2000 peak fit algorithms or library-driven peak search programs (The user can affect the way the region is fitted by performing any of a number of peak editing functions.) If a fit to a peak region is altered, the updated values of peak energy, centroid, net area, counts/second and %error are stored in the configuration for each peak in the packet. A subsequent nuclide identification process will use the updated information for proper sample analysis.

The graphical results displayed by Interactive Peak Search may be output to a Hewlett-Packard HP-PCL printer, an Epson or compatible printer, or to any DEC Sixel laser or dot-matrix printer (such as an LN14A or an LA30N) if the appropriate plotter software is installed.

Inspection Display Prior to Adding Peak

Inspection Display After Adding Peak

Each region to be processed by the Interactive Peak Search package is displayed in graphic form on a Genie 9900, Genie VAX or Alpha CPU Workstation, X:Genie or ReGIS terminal.

The Interactive Peak Search program allows users to:

  • Add peaks to or delete peaks from the currently displayed region
  • Fit the peak region
  • Generate a report of peak centroids, energies and areas, etc., for each peak in the region
  • Change the left and right peak region limits
  • Choose to update or ignore the most recent changes

This display gives the user a quick visual check of the peak region. It displays the raw channel-by-channel data with a vertical error bar (Poisson uncertainty) through each point. The step background function is plotted beneath the peak.

The user may also plot the Gaussian fit to each peak in the region as well as the overall fit envelope. A residuals plot at the bottom of the screen provides the user with the difference between the fit and the data in units of standard deviations for each channel in the peak region.

The report display allows the user to obtain a more quantitative check of the peak region. The report lists the number of iterations and the chi-square value of the fit. It also lists the energy, centroid, area, percent uncertainty, the measured FWHM and the ratio of the measured FWHM to the expected FWHM for each peak in the region.

Using the edit display, the user may add a peak, delete a peak and change the start and end peak region limits.
