Gamma Analyst: Spectroscopy System Setup and Operation Course

Prerequisites: SA-816-5 Introduction to VMS Concepts and Digital Command Language Course.

Purpose: The five day course provides the user and system manager with an overview of the hardware and software functions used with the Gamma Analyst. The course discusses how to operate the Gamma Analyst automated sample counting features using VMS Genie based PROcount GUI environment. This will help with the mechanics and setups used in the day-to-day operation.

Description:
This course is intended for students with minimal experience with the VMS PROcount Sample counting or Genie spectroscopy system software. The Gamma Analyst system fully automates the sample changer counting process. The course will cover the standard Gamma Analyst menus, setups and operation and maintenance functions needed to accommodate Gamma Analyst Sample Change product line.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be familiar with all Gamma Analyst Menu operations and be able to move about the user directories, edit command procedures for Sample Counting operations, invoke the spectral editors, calibrate the detector, analyze samples and batch routines, and generate reports for basic multiple sample count analysis.
