SU-470-4 Genie 2000 - Basic Operation

Prerequisites:

  • Some familiarity with Windows NT, 2000 or XP is helpful.
  • SP-502-5 or equivalent gamma spectroscopy experience.

Purpose:

This course is designed as an introduction to the basic operation of the Genie 2000 spectroscopy system software. It is intended for the new or potential user of Genie 2000.

Description:

Training Course - SU470-4 Genie 2000 Basic OperationsThis course is designed as an introductory level course for both the system manager and operator who will be setting up and using the Genie 2000 spectroscopy system.

The course starts with a short review of the system's application and the operating system environment. It then covers the use of the MCA Definition, Certificate and Library editors. The course stresses the use of the interactive Genie 2000 environment for performing data acquisition, calibration and analysis. Concepts are taught using lecture and extensive hands-on laboratory sessions.

Because of its importance and recommended usage the optional Quality Assurance software for Genie 2000 is also covered as a standard part of the course. Advanced Genie 2000 operations, such as system customization, report template writing and batch procedures are briefly discussed and demonstrated.
