Neutron Assay with NAS Course
Prerequisites: None.
Purpose: This course is a comprehensive introduction to NAS (Neutron Analysis Software) for both operators and managers.
Description:
The course begins with a brief introduction to Neutron Counting for
Waste Assay and Safeguards and describes the factors affecting the accuracy
and usefulness of these measurement techniques. Operation of NAS software
- from installation and calibration to sample counting and interpretation
of results - is covered in both lecture and laboratories. Optional modules
include the interface to Isotopics software, as well as the Add-A-Source
option.
