Developing trace ability applications with interfaces to CANBERRA Products

Speaker: Siebren van Tuinen, NRG - Nuclear Research & Consultancy Group

Abstract Summary:

At NRG (Nuclear Research & Consultancy Group) we started to develop client specific software based on the main principles of trace ability (the 4W’s). For internal use some applications were developed, which needed every time the same basic information fields. Based on these experiences NRG started to offer their software to external clients. This resulted in, amongst others, two interesting projects with direct interfaces with CANBERRA products: the REWIND application, with which trace ability can be guaranteed for all radioactive waste originating from decommissioning nuclear plants, and a National Monitoring Network for Radioactivity in Food, in which the NRG software is co-operating with measuring stations spread over the Netherlands, which are supplied with CANBERRA analysis instruments. For both products the functionality, the technical build-up, and the interactions with the CANBERRA products will be explained. Both projects show that good co-operation between companies can lead to very nice and customer satisfying products.
